If you have a child under five, don’t bother trying to adopt a puppy from here. My daughter has been around dogs all her life, but they wouldn’t even consider me as a candidate for adopting a puppy. I’m allowed to adopt an older dog, but the whole reason I wanted a dog was for my daughter to bond and grow with our four legged family member. The lady working there even told me what breed of dogs I would be allowed to look at. I’m not stupid. I’ve done a lot of research before deciding that I wanted to add a four legged family member. And telling me that beagles don’t bay? I’ve owned two and they both bayed.
Karen was rude and lies. Filled out application and told the staff what cat I wanted and was told we would hear in a few days. First excuse current cat not up to date on vaccine. When a asked what vaccine Karen said all of them the vet recommends. My vet recommended rabies only. Karen went off no they need all vaccines. Again I asked for what they mean by all so I can get my cats vaccinated again she could not give me the list and Karen got snippy and started she would check with THEIR vet and get back to me then HUNG UP THE PHONE.
Karen call back.....second excuse the cat behaviorist that use now recommends that the cat we are looking at being adopted with another cat he was bonded with. I told Karen fine we could offer his mate a home too. Karen said well you can't because I put more than four cats in one household you cannot adopt the cat you want peroid.
Karen is rude and needs to be fired. I'll be writing a letter to livingston county board. I hope the aminals are treated better than the way Karen treats people that hope to adopt.
If I could give 0 star, I would do that. The animals are adorable but the staffs in charge of adoption are really rude. They turned away college students because they are in college and stereotyped them as "irresponsible." I would definitely not recommend this place. Do not go there if you don't want to get angry from their responses.
Looking for a cat, very rude, employee at desk did not seem happy to be there or happy we were there! Did not communicate well regarding the variety of cats. Sad to say we left without a feline friend
